Someone poked me to do a year in review thingy. Well, it won’t be much. Since this time last year:
Real life crap:
Job got bought out by a multi billion dollar, 50,000 employee company. -- Life has been pretty hellish since. It’ll be better (hopefully) once me and my department are all over at the other building together, instead of me working in two places at once. The raise I got isn’t really worth it.
My car kicked the bucket, and I bought a new one. His name is Sousuke <3
Cats and birds are still going strong. Walter is about to turn 20, just as evil as always. Freejia is no better, she is like 130+ in bird years, and has now taken to sleeping upsidedown like a bat at night.
Ponies: Hasbro…we won’t get into them. Money saved from not buying ponies has been funneled into the other fandoms.
Anime: Besides Clannad, I can’t think of any off the top of my head I’ve finished recently. Mostly vintage stuff like Creamy Mami, Rose of Versailles, and Harlock. Currently watching Durarara!! and FMA.
Games: played and beat Chrono Trigger, Harvest Moon SI, BOF II in Japanese. Playing Lufia 2 in Japanese, waiting for Pokemon SoulSilver to come out.
Tokusatsu: watched more of these then I’m willing to admit to. Really enjoyed Boukenger, Jetman, and Kamen Rider Kabuto. Currently watching Double and Goseiger with the boyfriend.
Music: good luck at Bookoff has my ipod filled with Disney and 70s robot goodness. Didn’t romanize as many lyrics as I wanted to.
Books: plowed through a vast majority of my book backlog. George R R Martin, Andre Norton, Raymond Chandler, Anne McCaffrey, and Issac Asimov were most of the authors. Read a large amount of books and shorts stories from 1930’s to 60s. Also obtained a huge pile of kids books from a bin at work. Mangawise started reading 20th Century Boys, Pluto, and Oishinbo.
TV: Well…I don’t even turn the tv on anymore, so I have no idea whats on. Parents monopolize the flatscreen downstairs that has the On Demand and all the premium channels, so nothing to watch up here anyway.
Got into the bad habit of buying R2 dvds. I got about 30 of them now, and 4 more preordered. Somehow its still cheaper then back in the day, when I used to pay $30 for a dub only 2-episode VHS of Ranma. And they are soooo nice, with premium packaging and all kinds of preorder goodies.
My NaNoWriMo novel continues to haunt me, refuses to end, and cuts into my other stuff. The file is open even as I type this.
Otherwise…that’s about it. My life is boring, lol.
